Architecture is a work of interaction between light and materials. Hexafield captures the change of light with a wide range of gradients of opacity and translucency. Each hexagonal prism resin unit contains different portions of concrete and magnetic iron powder. The front surface has tessellation textures with wavy curvature that makes refraction of light. The back surface is transparent to show the material mixture inside each unit. In natural light conditions, translucent resin shows the gradient of the magnet, whereas magnet and concrete parts make high contrast of shadow and silhouette effect with direct artificial light.
