3D printing is widely utilized in architecture discipline, from small scale objects to on-site construction. Pottery is a proper medium to test print textures made with computational design because finishing pottery includes physical(baking) and chemical(glazing) change as well as the surface build-up. Utilizing the robotic work-cells in the Fabrication Lab, Coiled Clay developed a series of functional objects to produce in ceramics. Computational design with Grasshopper is used to create truncated pyramid textures and form of swirl.
